Georgian Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics (GSNCH) was founded on Sept. 17, 2011.  It is young, non-profit professional organization, which is opened for all new members.

The sole and direct purpose of the GSNCH shall be to serve the public interest and promote science and research as well education and training in the field of Neurosonology (transcranial Doppler and carotid duplex). Cooperation and the dissemination of scientific information within the field of Neurosciences shall be encouraged. The GSNCH will actively support implementation of international guidelines of Neurosonology Laboratory proposed by NSRG, ESCHN and American Society of Neuroimaging. The Society will also act as an advisory body for health policies and teaching standards in the field of neurosonology and cerebral hemodynamics in Georgia.

All Society members at the same time are the members of Neurosonology Research Group of World Federation of Neurology (NSRG WFN). This activity was accomplished under the guidance and recommendation of NSRG WFN Executive Committee Member Alexander Razumovsky, PhD, FAHA (Vice-President & Director, Sentient NeuroCare Services, USA). Recently during NSRG WFN Executive Committee meeting held on May 18, 2012 in Venice (Italy), the GSNCH was unanimously confirmed as an Associated Society with NSRG WFN.

An activity carried out by the society is not only desirable but is essential factor for further development of Neurosonology (transcranial Doppler and carotid duplex) in Georgia.  Society members are committed to follow activities aiding field’s further strengthening and development and will actively promote the exchange of knowledge and the potential scientific collaboration above the clinical routine.

The society will aid for achieving international standards in clinical and research practice and will assist to get involved in international scientific and research activities.

 GSCHN purpose and goals are the following:

1.    To promote scientific research, education and training in the field of ultrasonic techniques;
2.    Increase collaboration with international organizations, such as NSRG WFN, ESCHN, BSNCH (Bulgarian Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics) and other similar international or national organizations;
3.    Development of new projects and programs;
4.    Actively seeking the new partners for further collaboration;
5.    Involvement in International trials and projects;
6.    Implementation of International guidelines, new technologies and methods;
7.    Improvement quality of medical services;
8.    Conducting workshops, seminars and conferences;
9.    Sharing the scientific, research and practical knowledge and experience;
10. Conducting trainings;
11. Organizing teaching activity for physicians, residents and students.
